P-3 VISA

P-3 VISA Attorney – San Jose, CA

Certain residents of San Jose, California have a legal document known as a P-3 visa. Individuals with this type of visa have been admitted into the United States due to the great talents they have to share with others.

However, like any immigrant, a person with a P-3 visa may run into legal issues due to his or her legal status. If that is your situation, you should consider contacting our qualified P-3 visa lawyer right here in San Jose.

P-3 visas are one of the less common kinds of visas issued to legal immigrants. Specifically, these are only given to talented, knowledgeable, or skilled individuals that have the ability to perform, coach, or teach an art-form. Usually, P-3 visas are specifically reserved only for entertainers, performers, or artists.

A person may be able to obtain a P-3 visa on his or her own. However, often, a group of entertainers or performers may receive P-3 visas together. This, for example, would be the case for a group of Chinese acrobats that wish to perform at a US amusement park.

However, not all individuals that perform or coach such performers are given P-3 visas. Usually, these visas are reserved for individuals whose performance art is considered to have either a high level of cultural merit or a rich history. For example, a person that performs traditional Russian folk dance may be approved for residency in the United States through a P-3 visa.

There are certain limitations to a P-3 visa. For one, they are only good for the employer that sponsored the visa. If a person is fired or has to change employers, that person will have to obtain a completely new visa to stay in the United States. A P-3 visa can also be used to bring dependent family members into the US. However, they will not be allowed to work like is the case for other visas.

Unfortunately, like anyone who is a legal immigrant to the United States, a person with a P-3 visa may be harassed or threatened regarding their legal status even when it’s not actually justified.

When this happens, it’s a good idea to hire a San Jose P-3 visa attorney. While there is probably more than one P-3 visa lawyer in the area, the best is Madan Ahluwalia. He is a qualified visa attorney that has had plenty of experience defending performers that have had their legal status in the US unfairly questioned.
